Guided tour of the Carmelites monastery
In the heart of Ghent, a green oasis is part of a special place. With almost four centuries of history, the Carmelite Fathers form one of the oldest monastic communities in the city.
During this guided tour, we discover the fascinating monastery garden and find out where Charles V's lions used to live. We also visit the church, the silent cloister halls, the beautiful library and the old catacombs.
We conclude with a taste of de Carmel's own gin and a visit to the shop.
