Security

Beware of phishing. Het Rustpunt will never ask you via WhatsApp, text message or any other messaging platform to make a payment or to provide your bank or card details.

All payment-related communications are sent exclusively via our official email address noreply@roomraccoon.com or via the booking platform you used to make your reservation. If you receive a suspicious message, please ignore it and contact us directly using the contact details above.

With public transport

Station Gent-Sint-Pieters (tram)

Outward journey:
Leave the station through the main entrance and turn right into the street 'Pr. Clementinalaan'. At platform 20, take tram T4 (direction Rabot - Muide - Lange Steenstraat). Get off at the stop 'Rabot' (Begijnhoflaan). Walk into Rabotstraat and turn left into Burgstraat. At Burgstraat 110-116 (black gate) you can ring the bell at 'Het Rustpunt' (left side of the street).

Return journey:
Turn right when you leave 'Het Rustpunt' and turn right into 'Rabotstraat'. At the stop 'Rabot'. There you take tram T4 direction 'UZ' until station Gent-Sint-Pieters. 

Station Dampoort (bus)

Outward journey:
via Gent-Dampoort station: take bus 10 - 11 - 12a - 12b, direction 'all directions' 'Korenmarkt', all the way to the 'Poel' stop. This stop is 350 metres from 'Het Rustpunt'. Leave Sint-Michielsbrug behind and walk into Hoogstraat. Then take the first street on the right, Ramen. Follow this street and you will arrive at Burgstraat. Go up to house numbers 110-116 (black gate). Ring the bell at 'Het Rustpunt'.

Return journey: 
In Burgstraat, take the small street next to the Carrefour 'Ramen' and continue walking to Hoogstraat to the 'Poel' stop. This stop is 350 metres from 'Het Rustpunt'. 
Take bus 10 - 11 - 12a - 12b to 'Station Dampoort'.

With the car

Het Rustpunt is located within the low-emission zone (LEZ). More info below.

Due to an updated circulation plan by the city of Ghent, you cannot rely on a GPS that has not been updated recently.


To improve air quality, Ghent's city centre will be a low-emission zone from 1 January 2020. The most polluting vehicles will no longer be allowed to enter the zone.You can check whether your car is still allowed to enter via this link. Cars that are permitted but have a foreign number plate must register anyway.You can park for free at various car parks outside the centre (P+R). You can find all the options here. A free shuttle bus leaves from P+R Weba/Decathlon and P+R Watersportbaan to the city centre. From P+R Expo, you can take tram 1.

At the Zwijnaarde junction, take the E40 towards Oostende EXPO. Join the E40 and then follow the directions under ‘From Brussels (via the E40)’ below.

On the E40, take exit 14 (St-Denijs-Westrem) and follow the signs for the R4 Zelzate, Eeklo EXPO. Keep left and drive to the roundabout, approximately 1.5 km away. At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right and drive over the bridge. On the bridge, keep right and follow the sharp bend towards Zelzate. After the bend, join the R4. You’ll have the Ring Canal on your left.

Follow the R4 for about 3 km, until you reach the N466 Blaarmeersen exit. Take the side road, then take the second turn-off towards the N466 Gent. At the next junction, carry on straight ahead towards Gent. A little further on, join the N466. Continue until you reach the junction with the R40 (Rooigemlaan). Turn right, then take the second street on the left (at the traffic lights). You are now on Nieuwewandeling, with a park on your left. Cross the water and take the second street on the right, then turn left 150 metres further on into Peperstraat. At the end of the street, turn right onto Burgstraat.

You can park in front of the church at Burgstraat 46 (€ 12 / night)

Take exit 13 (Drongen) onto the N466. At the end of the exit, turn left and drive over the bridge carrying the motorway. Follow the N466 for approximately 6 km (Deinsesteenweg, Drongensesteenweg) until you reach the junction with the R40 (Rooigemlaan). Turn right, then take the second street on the left (at the traffic lights). You are now on Nieuwewandeling, with a park on your left. Cross the water and take the second street on the right, then turn left 150 metres further on into Peperstraat. At the end of the street, turn right onto Burgstraat. You can park in front of the church at Burgstraat 46.
